Dubai, 12-13th April 2018 – Developers, publishers as well as companies servicing the games industry from around the MENA region gathered at Hub Zero, Dubai for the Digital Games Conference or DGC 2018!

The DGC in Dubai is the leading Conference & Exhibition for the MENA region games industry and included in the list of attendees were MDEC’s Interactive Media team who attended with the objective of developing the MENA region games market as well as to expand the reach of LEVEL UP KL.

 

The DGC at a Glance

In total, more than 600 companies from more than 35 countries participated in the conference, in addition to more than 70 renowned speakers over its two days B2B conference and meetings.   Being both industry and community oriented, DGC aimed not only to bring developers, publishers and service companies together, but to also provide a platform for International Games Companies to access and tap into the MENA region and its 300+ Million Gamers – something we  don’t quite mind!

In addition to this, DGC is also seen as an event for influencers, gamers and e-sports teams to discover and play exhibiting publishers and developers games, to participate in e-sport competitions as well as to experience the latest innovations, in VR, AR, Motion Capture and more.

Also for the first time in the MENA region, three developers competitions were hosted including DGC’s MENA Universities Competition, that gathered talents from universities in the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon and Tunisia.

Highlight of DGC 2018

One of the memorable highlights for DGC was Alexander Fernandez of Streamline Studios presented at DGC and the Interactive Team also generated more than 20 business opportunities; proving that the games scene in the region looks promising.
